Mrs. Brouhard’s fourth-graders at Pearl City Elementary recently completed a tiny house project to practice and show their understanding of finding area and perimeter.
They began the unit by watching an episode of “Tiny House Hunters” and discussing the creative use of space. They were given a list of things they had to be sure to include in their tiny homes. Students created blueprints of their tiny homes and constructed 3-D paper models. They also had to find the area and perimeter of various objects inside the houses.
The finished projects were then placed on the streets of Tiny Town. Some were on Area Avenue, while others were on Perimeter Parkway.
