It isn’t the smell of sugar beets that’s slowing people down at the corner of State Avenue and South 29th Street [in Billings, Montana]; it’s a little house that has caught the eye of those passing by.

The “tiny house” as its builder and observers have named it, is the creation of 18-year old Brady Stoppel, who began construction of the 80-square-foot structure that sits atop a modified trailer bed in August with the intent of producing a towable home to take on camping, rock climbing and skiing trips.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it,” said Brady’s grandfather Gary Stoppel, who was initially confused to find the trailer on his property. “I said, ‘What the heck are you doing with a trailer?’
