The Bunkie kit contains 15 large pieces of structural plywood, which Bare tells us were designed using 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) modeling. This technology allowed him to develop “a structure that could be manufactured and assembled very much like a piece of modular furniture.” These prefabricated materials not only make construction easier (and The Bunkie Co. will dispatch a team to help with installation), but they fit together with such precision that the result is “smaller air gaps,” making the structure more efficient as well.

Yet while the Bunkie is impressive in its functionality, Bare tells us that playful details like large glass windows – they make the space seem bigger – and the Premier model’s chimney structure have become signature elements of their brand.
