A Minot-based contractor is hoping his half-hour in the limelight on national television last night will open some doors for him.
Jim Nelson dreamed of building the ultimate deer stand – and ended up designing and building a structure that was featured on the HGTV show, “Tiny House, Big Living.”
It’s a program that focuses on a trend in housing these days – small and unique.
Nelson has operated Bridgewater LLC in Minot for a dozen years and is an avid hunter.
He dreamed of a decked-out deer stand he could pull behind a truck and set upright without hydraulic power.
And the tiny house he designed is literally decked-out – with a deck at the top.
He says he shared his idea with HGTV and producers at the network were intrigued.
Nelson says filming the show was a pretty intense seven-week process.
