Danny Mckibbin and Lonie Carpenter will be featured in an upcoming episode of the FYI Network’s Tiny House Nation. They will make history as the first gay couple on the show.
“Tiny House Nation is like our favorite show, so we were like, the lot wasn’t huge but we could put another house on it so we thought, let’s put a tiny house,” says Mckibbin of their idea to build a tiny house. “It all kind of came together,” Carpenter explains.
Tiny House Nation showcases families who take part in the tiny house movement by massively downsizing their homes.
“It’s just basically about being more within your means. Both in terms of the environment and economic,” explains the show’s co-host John Weisbarth.
“We really love the idea of going just a little bit smaller, but it being super functional. And hopefully that’ll free up more of our time to just enjoy living and not be owned by our house,” Mckibbin says of their decision…
“This is an interesting built to me because it’s not the smallest house we’ve done, but the owners of this house are moving down over 3,000 sq.ft. So, that’s quite a jump from 3,000 sq.ft. to 600. And that’s certainly in the spirit of the whole movement,” says co-host Zack Giffin.
