The tiny house movement is spreading around the globe and it has finally hit Kamloops [British Columbia, Canada].

A local woman has begun building her dream home but unlike a typical house this tiny home is less than a quarter of the size.

It’s been a long time dream of Melanie Hewer’s to build a tiny home.

And four years out of retirement she’s setting herself up for a much more simplistic lifestyle.

“To each their own. Why do you drive a car or a truck. I like the coziness. It’s so simple. My house work will be low and I can do what I want,” says Hewer.

About five years ago Melanie first saw a tiny home on reality television.

She fell in love with the idea, motivating her to downsize and sell her three story home and build her tiny which she calls “Serendipity”.

Space is definitely limited in a tiny home and every inch matters.
