Growing up together in Louisville, Kentucky, Donny Greene and Jill Garvin were close.
But, like many childhood friends, their lives drifted apart and they lost touch. Then one day Garvin, 48, sent Greene, 50, a Facebook message. The two hit it off again and soon started a long-distance relationship. Garvin, the director of psychological health with the Air National Guard at Otis Air National Guard Base, was living in Plymouth, while Greene, a youth basketball tournament organizer, was still based in Louisville.
“We lost track about 29 years ago,” Greene said. To combat high rents, and to have a place to call their own, Greene set out to build a tiny home. To be closer to Garvin’s work, the couple decided to settle the 320-square-foot home in the Otis Trailer Village near Johns Pond…
“It’s a huge feeling of relief knowing that I can live within my means, and on Cape Cod,” Garvin said. “I’m super, super grateful.”
